Covid-19 Update
Dear Patients,
We hope this letter finds you and your family well. New York State has permitted dental offices to re-open for all routine dental procedures. We look forward to
seeing you in the coming weeks.
While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: Our commitment to your safety. Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice. We have adopted new protocols that go beyond the recommendations of the Center for Disease Control (CDC), the American Dental Association (ADA) and the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA).
You may see some changes when it is time for your next appointment. We made these changes to help protect our patients and staff:
• Our office will communicate with you beforehand to ask some screening questions. You will be asked those same questions again when you are in the office.
• We have hand sanitizer that we will ask you to use when you enter the office.
• You will have a non-contact temperature check and be given a pre-procedural antiseptic rinse.
• In addition to our normal personal protective equipment (PPE), we will be wearing disposable gowns, N95 masks, and face shields.
• Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. You may be asked to wait in your car instead of our waiting room with an exception for those without vehicles.
• We will do our best to allow greater time between patients to reduce the number of people in the reception area at any one time. Our waiting room will have less seating to allow for social distancing and we will no longer have magazines.
• We have placed plexiglass barriers at our front desk.
• We have air purifiers with HEPA filters in each of our operatories.
• We have added UV light to our HVAC system to provide additional air purification.
• We will use fogger technology to disinfect the office during the course of the day.
• To further reduce aerosol we will be using additional high speed suction units in every operatory (coming in July).
